I’ve been offering boudoir sessions for eight months now, and in that time I’ve had a lot of sessions that are somehow related to babies — several of my clients have talked about how they are trying to get pregnant. One of my clients was just a few days pregnant when we did her session – she didn’t even know it yet. Ms. E came to me shortly after she found out she was pregnant and asked if she could do a boudoir session because she wanted to capture how she looked before her baby was born.

I immediately asked her if she would be willing to pose for me when she was closer to her due date, and I was thrilled when she agreed! For a long time, I didn’t get maternity photography. Why would anyone want that? Then I realized, in part thanks to my AMAZING boudoir clients, that every single woman is beautiful. Pregnant women truly do radiate a special light though. They are just stunning.

Ms. E called me when she reached the 30 week mark and we set up a session time. It worked out that the only day that we were both free was right after the open house this weekend, so we pulled out all the stops on Sunday and did our shoot.

We had such a great time. I joked that in the future, I need to set up a “Bootie to Belly to Baby” package, photographing boudoir through maternity and then the newborn session too. Oh, who am I kidding – it wasn’t a joke. I’ve already got dibs on her newborn photos! I can’t wait for the baby to arrive in a few weeks! (You’ll have to watch for her over on the regular blog.)

Laughter is the Most Fun! Boudoir Photography in Houston, Texas

I always try to find something that will make us laugh at our boudoir session. I have my arsenal of stupid jokes – I can never remember jokes, so the ones I do remember are all very lame and therefore hysterical. Fortunately, Mrs. L liked to laugh just as much as I did, so we had *so* much fun at her session!

She opted to do her session at her house, so we could incorporate things from their everyday life into the shoot. It was a ton of fun! Especially when we started imagining what the neighbors must be thinking if they were looking through the windows. I end up standing on things to get higher angles, laying on the floor – whatever it takes to get the shot. Combine that with a lot of lingerie? Yeah, the laughter is pretty much guaranteed!

People often ask me if their photos have to be up on the blog. It absolutely is not a requirement for any session that I shoot — and every photo that I post here I post only with permission. Mrs. L didn’t want any photos that showed her face to be shared on the site, which I completely respect. She did approve these photos though!

Good news! Good news!!! GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!! (That is me, shouting it from the rooftops!)

After what is a rather long, boring story, I’ve made the decision to take over the ENTIRE building where my studio is located at in the Heights! The whole thing! I’ll be working on adding new vignettes for photo shoots, and maybe even props we can use over the next few months – in addition to the ones that are already set up. Wheeeeee! I’m so EXCITED!!!

The holiday special packages were SO popular, I’ve decided to continue them to celebrate the studio expansion! So here they are so you can check them out!

These packages are good until April 30, 2009 – so book your session right away! (You can book a session for any time in 2009 at these rates!) I’m always happy to discuss a custom package for you — let me know if there is something special you have in mind!

Sessions are available during the week, with limited weekend sessions available. 50% of your selected package price is due at the time of booking to hold your date; the balance is due 1 week before your session.

Yes, you read that right – you select 20 images, and I’ll do all the special retouching magic to them and include them on your DVD!***

1-2 hour photo shoot at the studio, in your home, or at a hotel of your choice.*
Your choice of one of the following:
20 page coffee table book, 10×10 or 8×8 in size, and with a leather cover; OR
20 5×7 or 8×10 fine art prints; OR
DVD of all proofs from your session with a print release.** (Note: no special retouching will be done to the images.)

Special Price: $500 (normally up to $975.)

Simple & Sweet

1 hour photo shoot at the studio in the Heights. (1-2 outfits)
DVD of 10 retouched images of your choice with a print release.***
Option to purchase albums or prints at a 20% discount off of the normal price.

Sneak Peeks Waiting to be Unwrapped – Houston Boudoir Photography

I have so many fabulous photos to share! But I can’t share them until after Christmas, as I don’t want to ruin the holiday surprises! There are some fabulous albums waiting under trees to be unwrapped!

Matter of fact, our holiday specials were so well received, I’m going to extend them through Valentine’s Day! There are just a few weekend sessions left, plus weekday sessions as well. Not in Houston? I’ll travel anywhere for very reasonable rates. Gather up your friends and you can split the travel costs!

Miss M – Boudoir Session in Austin, Texas

Back in September, before Hurricane Ike decided to drop in to Houston for a visit – leaving me without power for 14 days – I went to Austin for a boudoir session with Miss M. She is getting married in October, and what better way to support a member of our troops than with a set of pinup photos of his wife! On top of that, Miss M has worked hard to lose weight during his most recent deployment, so these shots were also a celebration of her hard work between Weight Watchers and Jazzercise. We all agreed she needs to be their new representative, because she is so inspiring!

We held the session at a house, and we were blessed with fabulous light for it! We had a ton of fun – it is hard to get the steamy, sultry shots when you can’t stop laughing!
